14.12 A Weekend Away for Fairgrounds Festival

The weekend of the 2nd-4th of December saw me and my partner Joe driving the 8.5 hours from Melbourne (VIC) to Berry (NSW) for Fairgrounds festival. A two-day music festival approximately 2 hours north of Sydney.

The festival itself was housed at the Berry oval/pool, with a fab set up of bars, food venders, market stalls, all surrounding the main stage.

The first night we saw performances by Ali Barter, The Drones, Rodriguez and King Gizzard & The Gizzard Wizard (whom I remember from my freelance music writing days back in 2011).

Day two was blessed with performances by Middle Kids, Julia Jacklin, Sheer Mag, Angel Olsen, Big Scary , Japandroids, Sarah Blasko, The Tallest Man on Earth and Jagwar Ma.

The highlight was Angel Olsen by far!

All in all, it was a great weekend!

What is the best festival you’ve been to recently?
